TeaTok Community Guidelines
Template: this document is a draft template and has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. It must be legally reviewed before the TeaTok app is launched.
Last updated: [TODO: date]
1. Scope
These guidelines apply to everything you post in TeaTok, including brew check-ins (photos, notes and comments about your tea sessions) and reviews, which only verified buyers of a product can write. They form part of our Terms of Use.
2. Be kind and genuine
- Share your own photos, tasting notes and honest experiences.
- Reviews must reflect your real experience of a product you bought. No paid, incentivised or fake reviews.
- Respect other tea lovers of every background and level of experience.
3. Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post:
- Sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable content.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or sharing others’ personal information.
- Spam, scams, unsolicited advertising, links to external shops, or misleading content.
- Offers of illegal, counterfeit or regulated goods (e.g. drugs, weapons), or content encouraging illegal or dangerous activity, including unsafe health claims.
- Content that infringes others’ copyright, trademarks or privacy.
4. Reporting and blocking
Tap the “…” menu on any check-in, review, comment or profile and choose Report or Block. Blocking hides that user’s content from you immediately. We review reports within 24 hours. You can also email hello@teafairyworld.co.uk.
5. Enforcement
We may remove content and warn, suspend or permanently ban users who break these guidelines, acting within 24 hours of a report for objectionable content. Serious or illegal content may be reported to the relevant authorities. If you think we made a mistake, email us to appeal. [TODO: confirm appeals process and moderation tooling]
6. Changes
We may update these guidelines; we will notify you of material changes in the app.
